Function display
The XD3914 is a monolithic integrated circuit that senses analog voltage levels and drives 10 LEDs, providing a linear analog display. A single pin changes the display from moving dots to a bar graph. This feature allows the entire system to run at less than 3V. The XD3914's versatile design makes it easy to add visual alarms and extended scale capabilities to the display system. The circuit can drive multiple color LEDs, or low current incandescent lamps. Many XD3914s can be "chained" together to form displays with 20 to more than 100 segments. Both ends of the voltage divider are externally available so that two drivers can make a zero-centered meter. The XD3914 is very easy to use as an analog meter circuit. A 1.2V full-scale meter requires only one resistor and a 3V to 15V power supply, in addition to the 10 display LEDs. The XD3914 can also be used as a programmer or sequencer. The XD3914 is rated for 0°C to +70°C. The XD3914 is available in a DIP18 package.
